With its fine point, the blade is able to handle precise cuts, making pulling cuts particularly easy. Its history can actually be traced back to a specific gentleman of the 19th century—Colonel James Archibald Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie—the first Lord Wharncliffe of England.

Handle is black stained Finnish birch finished with China wood oil, a mixture of tung oil and linseed oil.

The sheath made in 3 mm vegetable tanned Spanish cattle leather it has great retention and stiffness. Featuring a snap button to secure the knife. Finished in a classical deep brown it is as stylish as the NKD Wharncliffe knife itself.
